Answer
Answer
AI(b) Rule of Violation in Basketball:
A violation in basketball is an infraction of the rules of the game concerning illegal ball handling, court boundaries, or time limits, which does not involve personal contact or unsportsmanlike conduct. Unlike a foul, a violation does not carry personal penalties or free throws; the penalty is simply loss of ball possession, with the opponents awarded a throw-in from out-of-bounds.
Four common violations in basketball:
1. Traveling: Moving one or both feet illegally without dribbling the ball, or lifting/changing the pivot foot before releasing the ball.
2. Double Dribble: Dribbling the ball with both hands simultaneously, or resuming dribbling after bringing the ball to a complete stop.
3. Three-Second Rule: An offensive player remaining in the restricted area (key) of the opponent's court for more than three consecutive seconds while their team controls the ball in the frontcourt.
4. 24-Second Shot Clock Violation: Failure by an attacking team to attempt a field goal that hits the rim before the 24-second shot clock expires.
