Explain the starting stance of a swimmer in the backstroke event.

AIStarting stance in backstroke:
1. The swimmer starts in the water, facing the starting end of the pool.
2. Both hands hold the starting grips and the feet are placed against the wall, with the toes under the water surface.
3. The swimmer must not stand on or curl the toes over the lip of the gutter.
4. On the starter's command 'Take your marks' the swimmer pulls up, with the body in a crouched position, and waits for the start signal.
