Intensity of monochromatic UV light incident on photocathode of a photoelectric cell is increased. What is its effect on:
kinetic energy of the most energetic photoelectron?
Answer
Answer
AIIt does not change. The maximum kinetic energy of a photoelectron, $K_{max} = h\nu - \phi$, depends only on the frequency of the light and the work function of the metal, not on its intensity.
