Answer the following.
Why is steel preferred to soft iron in making permanent magnets.
Answer
Answer
AIBecause steel has a high retentivity and a large coercive force, so once magnetised it keeps its magnetism and is not easily demagnetised, while soft iron has a low coercivity and loses its magnetism easily.
