Cricket: answer in detail.
Explain the techniques of wicket keeping.
Answer
Answer
AIWicket keeping is done by the fielder who stands behind the stumps; the main techniques are:
1. Stance: stand balanced on the toes, knees bent, feet about shoulder-width apart, hands resting on the ground between the legs, eyes on the ball.
2. Position: stand up close to the stumps for slow bowlers and well back for fast bowlers.
3. Taking the ball: watch the ball into the gloves, receive it with soft hands, fingers pointing down for low balls and up for high balls.
4. Footwork: move the feet quickly to get behind the line of the ball and keep the head still.
5. Stumping and run-out: take the ball cleanly and break the wicket quickly when the batter is out of the crease.
