AIPre-match duties of the umpire (any five):
1. Inspect the ground, pitch and creases and see that the markings are correct.
2. Check the stumps, bails and their dimensions.
3. Check that the balls to be used are of the correct weight and size.
4. Check the bats and equipment of the players for fairness.
5. Confirm with the captains the hours of play, intervals and the boundaries.
6. Supervise the toss with both captains and note the result.
