AILordosis is a postural deformity in which there is an exaggerated inward curve of the lumbar (lower) spine. It is also called hollow back or sway back.
Causes: weak abdominal muscles, tight hip flexors, obesity, pregnancy, wearing high-heeled shoes, poor posture.
Corrective measures: exercises to strengthen the abdominal and hip muscles, such as sit-ups, leg raises and pelvic tilts; stretching of the lower back; weight control; correct posture.
