Give reasons for the following.
Physisorption decreases with an increase in temperature.
Answer
Answer
AITrue. Because physisorption is exothermic and held by weak van der Waals forces, a rise in temperature (Le Chatelier's principle) favours desorption, so adsorption decreases.
