Circuit solver (Kirchhoff's laws)

Describe a circuit part by part and get the current through and potential difference across every part, worked out with Kirchhoff’s laws - cells with internal resistance, resistors, capacitors, galvanometers and Wheatstone bridges - and the equivalent resistance between any two points.

Each line: a name (R1 resistor, E1 cell, C1 capacitor, G1 galvanometer, A1 ammeter, W1 wire), the two points it joins (any labels: A, B, 0...), and its value (4ohm, 12V, 2uF). A cell’s + end is its first point; add r=0.5ohm for internal resistance. Adding right, left, up or down draws the circuit too.

Try: cell with internal resistanceseries and paralleltwo cells (Kirchhoff)Wheatstone bridgecapacitors in series

Currents and potential differences

PartWhatBetweenCurrent (A)p.d. (V)Power (W)
E1cellA – 01.468.4
R1resistorA – B1.42.83.92
R2resistorB – 00.83.22.56
E2cellC – 00.621.2
R3resistorC – B0.61.20.72

Worked out with Kirchhoff’s laws: the currents into each junction add up to zero, and so do the p.d.s round each loop.
