Consider the mechanism given below derived from spectrochemical analysis of the reaction between $\text{NO}$ and $\text{F}_2$:
$\text{NO} + \text{F}_2 \rightarrow \text{NOF}_2$ (slow step)
$\text{NOF}_2 + \text{NO} \rightarrow 2\text{NOF}$ (fast step)
The overall reaction is:
$2\text{NO} + \text{F}_2 \rightarrow 2\text{NOF}$
(i)
Write the rate law for this reaction.
(ii)
What is the overall order of this reaction?
(iii)
Calculate the number of times the rate of reaction will increase if the concentration of $[\text{NO}]$ is doubled and the concentration of $[\text{F}_2]$ is tripled.
