An epidemic refers to a sudden outbreak and rapid spread of an infectious disease affecting a large number of individuals within a specific geographical area, population, or community over a short period of time (e.g., cholera, dengue, or influenza outbreaks).

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) was established in 1984 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It is the apex national sports body responsible for promoting sports excellence, managing elite sports infrastructure, identifying and nurturing young talent, conducting national training camps, and providing sports science and financial support to Indian athletes.
